I'm absolutely confused about how a dental proceedure spun into life support.
Some procedures, i.e. cleaning, can release bacteria directly into the blood stream. Some doctors/dentists now recommend beginning a course of anti-biotics several days before having teeth cleaned.

OTOH, my mother, 78, does take antibiotics for a few days before and after a dental visit. This is due to a combination of her age and the blood thinning drugs she takes.
