...beginning a 9-minute, 30-second ascent to deliver the secret spy satellite payload into Earth orbit for the U.S. National Reconnaissance OfficeI guess the payload isn't so mysterious after all.

Hey -- don't go around telling everyone that it's a secret! That IS a secret, after all!

To this day we spend billions trying to keep certain things secret, yet, with no success. The 1950-1960's era of secrecy is still with us. It is called "empire building". We really do need to declassify 95% of what is out there. For one thing, it would cut the costs by at least 50%. The industry loves the secrecy because it keeps out lower cost competitors.

I'm glad to see its been kept hush-hush. I look forward to more articles about the secretiveness of it all.

The Titan name is fading into history... My brother was on the first all military lauch crew for the Titan way back when. He considered it, "his bird."

Thank goodness no one reads the free republic or else it wouldn't be a secret any more...... hahahahahahaha.
That headline is a joke.

Nothing wrong with the headline. It's a secret satellite, not a secret launch.

This thing just launched about 20mins ago.
My Brother-in-law called me and asked what just launched from down south, we're in JAX and get a good view of shuttle launches, and asked "wasn't the shuttle put off for another month?"
I stepped out side just in time to see the 1st stage booster go off.
