I just saw a commercial on FOX News by "An Apple Pie and Motherhood" sounding organization called ProtectYourCheck.org. I went to their site to see who these benevolent sponsors are, who are looking out for the general public. This is what I found:

Harold Ickes, Deputy Chief of Staff for President Clinton and architect of Clinton's successful 1996 re-election campaign,
Jim Jordan, a former Democratic Senate Campaign Committee executive director and campaign manager for Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign.
Jim Margolis, political consultant to John Kerry's successful presidential primary campaign and successful campaigns for Democratic U.S. Senators and Governors.
Michael Powell, previous chief of staff for Senator Chris Dud (D-CT) and Representative Joseph Kennedy (D-MA) and the Democratic National Committee. Powell also served as a top communications strategist for Senator Bill Bradley's 2000 presidential campaign.
Diana Rogalle A leading Democratic fundraiser - served as financial director for the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee and Wes Clark's 2004 presidential campaign.
Erik Smith Served as the chief communications strategist to House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt, the Gephardt 2004 presidential campaign and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Lyn Utrecht and Jim Lamb Washington, DC law firm Ryan, Phillips, Utrecht and MacKinnon - counsel to ProtectYour Check.org.

TOPICS: Government; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: democraps; socialsecurity
These descriptions from their web site reads more like a gang of Democratic bagmen for political campaigns than a group of benevolent caring experts on the plight of Social Security.

What an odd place for the Gang of Eight to advertise. Almost as odd as the environmental groups that advertise on the local radio station during the Rush Limbaugh show.
