There were radio hosts and citizens from California, Texas, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Ohio and Washington state. From the article:

Not only did the sheer number of hosts, 17, and their fans, 400, illustrate how immigration concerns have spread beyond border cities, it also underscored how radio hosts have evolved from opinionated entertainers to political activists whose familiar voices can galvanize growing numbers of people to their causes.

Ping for the radio hosts (17 of them) and the 400 citizens who went to Washington DC.

I was listening to Roger's program yesterday. One of the students from the Escondido Charter School, an 18 yr old senior, organized his group of 5 into a lobbying organization. They came up with a name, made themselves a website - which included a phone number (and they recorded a specific message to callers). They got information from another lobbying groups on how to approach congress people.

Because of their actions - one such congressional office laid out the red carpet (a democrat) and the top aide to the congress person arranged a meeting.

The good part was that the aide was totally speechless by their knowledge of the situation, and took a whole page of notes, even after she found out who they really were.

I'm telling you folks .. congressional people better pay attention - these young people in these charter schools and those being homeschooled - who are being taught government - are going to run circles around these liberal know-nothings.

There were other good reports.

One of my favorites was the visit to Hillary's office. They tried to make an appointment in advance - NO! They tried to speak even to an aide or scheduler - to schedule a meeting - NO! Person was out of the office. The leader of our group - went out into the hallway - used her cell phone and dialed the phone number for the office - and guess who answered - that's right .. the scheduler (who was not in the office) - NO! No meeting could be scheduled - needed 3 weeks. And .. the aide who was at the front desk was as dumb as a stick. So much for 40 years of liberal run schools.

I went on trip #7 - to lobby congress for our tax cuts in March of 2001 and it was a blast.

At http://www.rogerhedgecock.com you will probably find a lot of information and pictures about the trip. I don't know how soon they'll have it up at Roger's site, but they usually do it pretty quickly. It's fun reading how the "servants" served the public.

I loved how they called the American people "fans" and not activist citizens - trying to imply the people who were on the trip with Roger were a bunch of "groupies" and should not be taken seriously.

I think illegal immigration is THE issue that is going to ignite another revolution in this country. Most of us are near the boiling point (if not already there.)

AND THIS from the she-creature (I just can't refer to her as a woman) who wants to be the senator/president of the people! Yeah, right! She won't even let her subordinates look at her for gosh sakes. That's our Hill-Rod, all right! Evita II

Sadly, I completely agree. The middle class has had enough. Watching the news at noon today, I heard several reports. I saw and heard how illegals are demanding rights in D.C. today (and not getting arrested apparently). They can't even speak English and some have been here 20 years. One guy was speaking through a translator, saying over and over how he is a prisoner because he can't get a driver's license. OK, then, please don't let the door slam you on way back home.

Second, I heard how now the Dept. of Justice might prosecute the fellow who made a citizen's arrest of illegals at an AZ rest stop. For civil rights violations!!! CIVIL RIGHTS? We cannot make citizen's arrests? Millions of illegals have not been arrested yet our own citizens are being hassled??

All of that was enough to make my head spin off my body. Thank you for letting me vent :)

It IS backwards. The illegals have all the rights, the citizens don't have any.

Same here. I've refused to learn Spanish because this IS the U.S., after all? Sometimes I'm not even sure, living in Bakersfield, CA. My son has to chose a language to take in school next year. I was suggesting that he not take Spanish (for the reasons above), so he decided he'd take French instead. Heavy sigh..

When we have our next big terrorist attack on US soil, watch these same politicians react to illegal immigration. As for hitlary, seems like she said a short while back that she was going to do something about illegal imigration. Ah, guess she changed her mind.
