Amagasaki Train Accident Death Toll Tops 100

As rescue operations continue in the train derailment in Amagasaki, west of Osaka, Japan, additional dead have been recovered, bringing the toll to 102 (56 males, 45 females, 1 unknown).

This is the worst train accident since the 1963 accident at Tsurumi, near Yokohama, and the 6th worst train accident since the end of World War II.

Above is translated from Japanese and will probably be on the U.S. news services shortly. Condolences to all the victims. My daughter used to ride that line and, so far, has not discovered any of her friends or former classmates on the lists of those who died.

I had to look it up but I remember reading about this one. I believe it had the most deaths in a train accident.
