A man who secretly set up a home video camera to film his wife in the bath avoided a jail sentence yesterday.
Magistrates at Yate, near Bristol, were told the 55-year-old husband had linked the bathroom camera to a television in the couple's bedroom for "sexual gratification".
His wife unwittingly discovered the camera, installed in the ceiling, after she turned on the television and saw her naked husband in the bath, said Jan Fish, prosecuting.
After confronting her husband about the camera, she left the house. On her return, she found a recorded confession in which her husband admitted setting up the camera to watch her in the bath. She called the police and her husband was arrested.
The man told police he had purchased and installed a closed circuit television camera in the bathroom. Mrs Fish said: "His reason for doing this was for watching his wife in the bath and he had planned to watch them together in the bath for their sexual gratification."
The man, who pleaded guilty to three counts of voyeurism, was sentenced to a nine-month community rehabilitation order.
Debbie Bakehouse, defending, said the wife had thrown her husband out of the home they shared in a village in South Gloucestershire and was now filing for divorce.
"He understands he should have got his wife's consent before this took place."
The man was ordered to pay £130 costs and an order was made to destroy the surveillance and recording equipment. The offence of voyeurism entered English law in the 2003 Sexual Offences Act. The man cannot be named to protect his wife's identity.
True enough, but is this really a matter that should have involved the police??? They are married. If this made her mad, she could have let it go at kicking him out of the house and divorcing him. Having him arrested to boot was over the top. Also, if she has a hangup about her HUSBAND seeing her naked, then this couple had some real problems. Couldn't she have just asked him to remove the camera? This is just too much.
The poor man. Here he is, so full of love and lust for his middle-aged wife that watching her naked gets him all hot and bothered. Instead of chasing young girls around, the poor whipped soul takes pictures of her, and castrating cow that she is, she calls the British cops, the modern masters of repression and political correctness. What a monster! She's so lucky and doesn't even know it.

I can understand that, but 55-year-old men aren't all that hot either. I do make a few exceptions though now that I think about it. Much like your "very, very few" qualification.
When I was twenty there were very few 35 year old women that I had any interest in. Now that I'm 36 I find that I'm more interested in those 35 year old women than I am in the 18 year olds that I liked when I was 20. Women in their fifties are a little too old for me still, but I suspect that in another 15 years I'll feel differently.
The wife should have been flattered rather than offended that her husband found her at her age still sexually attractive and did not look elsewhere for a much younger woman to satisfy his needs.
Women...damn if you, damn if you don't.

I assure you, there are far more interesting things to do with a nekkid wife than watch her in the bath tub. Participation is much more fun than mere spectating.

Perhaps this is part of that sex-o-rexia that was in the msm news a few weeks back. Marriages without sex.
Perhaps this wife was not much of a "wife" and the husband was not a cheating type.
I'd like to see any criminal court in this country try to charge you and convict you if you did.
