The provincial parties in Canada set their own policies and are not state organizations of the national party like in the States. The Liberals in B.C and Quebec are conservatives. The Dalton Guinty Liberals in Ontario are to the right of the NDP and lately they've differed with the federal Liberals by complaining how Ontario sends more money to Ottawa than it is getting back in federal funds.
