I think all official government documents, including voting ballots, should be in English only.

It makes sense now and in the past, but all citizens should be allowed to vote IMO.

Requiring immigrants to learn English in order to become citizens is a possibility, as with other tests that are required.

At some point, though, with more languages being spoken here, the dominant language could change - whether English is required of new immigrants or not.

Otherwise, we have police enforcing spoken words.

Wonder how much time a FR post in the wrong language could land you?

Well, I didn't say all citizens shouldn't be allowed to vote, just that all ballots should be in English only.

BTW, Free Republic is not an official government document, so posting in other languages is probably fine as long as Jim's okay with it. ;-)
