All two of them?
Democrats' response to abortion -- spend hundreds of millions of dollars on new federal programs.
Good luck getting it past the liberal DNC...
Oh yeah, this'll fly with the RAT base. You betcha..
I think this is a great example of how minds and hearts have changed when it comes to abortion. To actually have the Democrats even CONSIDER such a move speaks to the attitude change we have seen in America.
I remember when people used to call the pro-life people kooks, Christian nuts, etc.....I thank God they held onto the fact the life is precious and continued to push a pro-life agenda. Times...they are a changin'.
good observation. I think some Dems are getting a clue that their rabid pro-abort position is costing them key votes in a closely divided electorate.
That's my fear as well.
There are already adoption agencies that will arrange for the adopting family to pay the mother's medical expenses.
I'd have to see the legislation, but I'm skeptical that it's going to do something productive that private agencies aren't willing to do now.
I'm really concerned that it's a step towards socialized medicine in the US, which is not the solution.
LOL!!
10Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
The way the congressional dems are at this very moment fighting against passage of the "Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act" (CIANA), HR 748 strongly signals the dems as usual speak with forked tongue...
So the democrats create the problem by backing "pro-choice" (read: pro-abortion) legislation for 30 years. Then they follow it up with the creation of 15 new federal programs to deal with the mess that they made.
I thought you had to swear to support of abortion to join the Democrat party... maybe a handful of folks grandfathered in from the olden days?
You must have a big heart, because that is not what I read between lines. What I see is that they are changing their speech to what the majority of the people want (that's why Bush won). More demagogue to get votes of not cautions people.
...is still a pig.
Were both of them there? The only name I saw mentioned was Ben Nelson of Nebraska, though I belive Colin Peterson and Jim Oberstar (both from Minnesota) are also pro-life.
Harry Reid pretends to be for his constituents back home . . . but I'm not aware of any others.
