DNA Tests Lead to Serial Rape Suspect

Wed Apr 27, 7:38 AM ET U.S. National - AP

NEW YORK - Acting on DNA evidence, authorities arrested a man for a 1973 rape and said he also is responsible for sexually assaulting at least 25 women in three states. District Attorney Robert Morgenthau said Tuesday that Clarence Williams, 58, was connected this month to the 1973 rape of a Manhattan woman and to attacks in Maryland and New Jersey after the federal DNA database matched a sample from him to genetic evidence left in many of those

...after the federal DNA database matched a sample

I'm glad they finally caught the creep, but I didn't know the above even existed. Scary.

The Westchester County Executive today stated that per the terms of parole for a sex offender they submit ot polygraph, and during this questioning the average number of assaults coomitted by the offender before being caught is 130.

I nearly choked on my kibbles, again the victims of sexual assault cry from their graves and ask why we let these scum loose to rape and murder again.

Kill them after the first assault or at least lock them up forever.

This is why DNA samples need to be taken from all accused criminals, just as they are routinely finger printed. DNA is apparently very amenable to computerized coding. Once that's done, DNA from a victim can be run against the entire data base to get the perp.

I have to disagree, maybe DNA should be taken from convicted violent criminals, but not the accused.

Anyone can be accused of a crime. Think about it, a cop can walk up to your door..."Mr. Libstripper? You are accused of felony littering, please provide a sample..."

It's no different than finger prints. If you're arrested for a crime, you're finger printed and photographed.
