What I am trying to say here is, that the enviro wackos are the ones who have prevented new refineries, along with their homosexual lovers, the socialist democrats and their supporting blacked robed butt kissers in the courts, will prevent and have prevented refineries from being built. Even if we do invest in the building of them, these punks will do everything in their power to prevent these from getting built. I see no other reason they have not built any, or any new nuke plants. The wackos have prevented it.

I would love to know how long it takes to create and finish a brand new refinery?Obviously, the first step would be finding a property that wasn't "pristine, wilderness or a thriving ecosystem". /s

Drilling and refining oil is easy-- anyone can do it. Protecting the moral fiber of society is something a lot more difficult and a lot more important.

It's not the refineries we want, it's the refining capacity that we want (see my post #.39) Would it be better to spend say, $2 billion on a new refinery for 10,000 barrels a day, or upgrade an existing one for half that money and put out an extra 20,000bls/day? There's an unwritten "collective gentleman's agreement" on Fleet MPG
The formula is based on crude flow vs. finished product flow ratio.
Fleet MPG is a factor determine by oil Inc., not the other way 'round.
A level of "management" few admit.
