Bolton was a key player in the fight to delay the Florida count long enough to allow for the Supreme Court's intervention, and he got his reward quickly. Despite his record of making controversial and sometimes bizarre statements regarding international affairs, he was selected by the Bush administration in 2001 to serve as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control. And he is now in line to become the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Before he is given that position, and charged with the job of promoting the spread of democracy around the world, however, senators would do well to consider the disregard John Bolton showed for democracy in Florida.

Gore was the guy who brought court action first in Florida;
Gore was the guy who demanded a recount in only four heavily democratic counties in Florida;
The action-causing event of the debacle in Florida in 2000 was Al Gore's campaign going ballistic - not the Bush people.
Viva Bolton!

Gore-Boies didnt really want all votes counted, even confined recount request to only certain precints in those democrat voting counties. Plus democrat voting boards disqualified thousands of military ballots when under 1982 federal decree should have been counted. Gore was counting on the lawless Florida supreme Court's giving him the election.

Good one, Stan!
check out the on line book from Hoover, lays out in sordid detail all the games Gore team was playin g
Let's be historically accurate here. The people who wanted to fix the Florida vote were the Democrats under Gore's leadership. Gore's efforts to get the votes recounted in predominately Democrat areas was an effort to change the election result. The anti-democratic thieves in Florida were the Democrats.
For those who like nightmare scenarios, what would the World be like if this was the fifth year of the Gore Presidency?
While President Gore probably would have responded to 9/11 better than we might think, the country would have been merciless with his dithering and fired him.
Nichols isn't interested in democracy, but rather, democratocracy.
"What would life be like under a Gore presidency"
there would be detention camps at Guantanamo Bay, but the Al Gorleone administration version of the patriot act required white heterosexual christian men who own firearms detained so musim extremists would not attack us out of offense at us
OMG - trying to tie him into the Rat lie of "Bush stole the election?" - lower than low. If the MSM weren't likely to lap it up, it would be humorous.
No mention of Rat lie "Gregoire stole WA governorship" by stuffing King county ballot boxes with thousands of invalid votes
