Rubio didn't do the right thing by trying to pay US taxes. She did the wrong thing by evading Mexican taxes on her foreign income.
She needs to go back to Mexico to straighten this problem out, eh?!

A mother did the right thing and paid her taxes Sounds like the mother should have done the OTHER right thing and came here legally first.

Sorry, but the Governor has no business interfering with a federal decision.
This is not about 'states rights', but about a violation of Federal Law.
He has no jurisdiction in the matter.

LOL!!!
I'd guess the editors & the owner's of the Tulsa World are wearing their hands out wringing them right now... Because they've caused someone to get deported..ROFLOL!!!
For those that don't know....the Tulsa World is as bad a liberal fish-wrap as there is in this country.

An advisory commission voted Monday to ask Gov. Brad Henry to intervene in the case of a Mexican woman facing deportation because she was quoted in a Tulsa newspaper. Ahem. She's facing deportation because she is an illegal alien.

Rubio's arrest is representative of a growing anti-immigrant mood in Oklahoma and beyond, said Ed Romo, president of the Oklahoma chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens, addressing the commission. "There is a mass hysteria in this state that's hurting Latinos in particular but minorities in general," Romo said. "We have legal residents who could be hurt by this."Nice try, Ed baby, but your hyperventilated mis-characterizations won't work any more.
ILLEGALS OUT.

Kinda like killing someone in the A.M.....getting caught jaywalking that night...and complaining that you are getting charged for murder...cause you jaywalked.

"We have legal residents who could be hurt by this." Name one. Or at least give a plausible scenario of how one might be hurt.
I'll wait.

The lady is here illegally. Therefore she is a criminal. And should be treated as such. Nothing wrong with that.

Don't worry...Democrat Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry, is a simpleton.
He will begin to study the issue...and that's as far as it will go.

"A mother did the right thing and paid her taxes and now she's going to be deported. That's ridiculous," said Guillermo Rojas, a member of the Governor's Advisory Council on Latin American and Hispanic Affairs. The mother is here illegally and working in violation of the law. It's a little late in the game to be doing "the right thing".
"If people are going to flout their illegal status by allowing themselves to be published on the front page of a local newspaper, that's something we're going to take notice of."
About damn time.
A photo of her and her youngest child, a 3-year-old daughter born in the United States, accompanied the article.
AKA the obligatory birthing of a U.S. citizen ploy.
Although there have been previous cases of undocumented people being deported after being featured in newspaper stories, this is the first case in which an immigrant identified as a participant in the IRS taxpayer program was deported, said Commissioner Nancy Galvan of Oklahoma City.
"This is a precedent," Galvan said.
And a good precedent at that.

Let's see... illegal arrested for paying taxes on illeagal earned wages. Multiple illegalities here.
Mexicans must fear the INS night and day and keep a constant eye over their shoulder lest they become comfortable. Settling down in a home is counter productive.
