You are so right. We warned that this would happen and that it would cost Bush PA and it would hurt Santorum. Now that we are seeing the fruits of their labor and Santorum's leftward turn, I wonder how dedicated any of them are to getting good judges on the bench.
If the GOP is serious about keeping Ricky's seat in the GOP column, Bush will appoint Ricky to some cushy job and let a real conservative run for the seat.
That's the only way that I see to keep at least one seat on our side of the aisle because Specter will be replaced by Rendell's choice. I doubt that Ricky's arrogance will allow him to see that he will lose next year so there is no chance that he would do what's right and announce his intention to spend more time with his family. His ego won't allow him to consider the possibility of losing.
