So what if this rice is the "kudzu" of the new millenium? What if it starts growing everywhere & no one can stop it?
IT'S NOT NICE TO MESS WITH MOTHER NATURE!
To: LibWhacker
Ok, I'll be the one to ask. What the heck does GM stand for? Is
General Motors taking up farming? How about General Mills?

Is this anything like putting rice in the butt of a presidential candidate? Does anyone get a medal for it?

So the headline means:
Genetically Modified Industry Puts Human Gene Into Rice
I wonder who modified the industry.

Oh the terror! I am using insulin that is produced by splicing a human gene onto e-coli bacteria. The the bacteria replicate and produce the human insulin. The bacteria is removed from the insulin and the insulin remains. It is known as recombinant DNA technology and the technology is so old the the patents have run out on Humulin insulin made by Lilly. Never did I have any ethical concerns in using this insulin. Never did I worry about e-coli. Never did I think that the human insulin gene somehow made the bacteria "human". Oh the terror of GM.
