Either enforce hate crimes evenly or dispose of them all. Murder is murder, assault is asssault, the reason why is immaterial.
MLK, a comic once said something like that it is ironic that every town of size has a MLK Jr. Street and it is usually where all the murders or shootings take place.
Equal Protection rights are being seriously violated here. Time to do a race statistical analysis of hate-crime prosecutions.
There's no such thing as a "hate crime," just as there's no such thing as a "love crime," an "angry crime" or any other emotional baloney. "Murder is murder, assault is assault" - as you said.
