I got a concept for these idiots...here it comes...cloth diapers.
100% biodegradable, renewable, reusable, earth friendly and cheap.
When we had our first kid, we figured the cost. $10-15 per week for disposables vs. 60 cents for a load of laundry.
BTW, I'm about as far from a tree hugger as you can find. I planted a styrofoam cup on earth day to see if it would grow. While I practice "Leave No Trace" in the wilderness. Trees are a crop and should be managed and used as such.
Oh Noooooo!
Water is a treasured resource. . .and detergent damages the ecological balance of our rivers/streams and oceans. . .and non-detergent detergent simply overburden those resources. . .and 'washing diapers' still require water/electricity. . .and create profits for greedy corporate interests.
No. . .diaperless is the only answer; just ask the young Mothers of any Hutu tribe in Africa. . .
Yup, and if they are really concerned about the detergents, they can choose from a whole range of "organic" soaps now available. If they are concerned about the energy costs of doing laundry, they can do it by hand.
