If this woman was so naive and clueless I would have more compassion for her. She took measures to make sure that the baby feel no pain during the abortion. She obviously understood this was an unborn child with ability to feel pain. THAT is what sickens me. She knew. She did it anyway. The whole ordeal turned out to be gruesome for HER And now she wants to sue. Notice she no longer seems concerned if the baby was actually in pain as he fell in the toilet or lay there dying? If she truly is sorry, she will work hard to win a huge settlement and then donate the entire amount to a cause to educate others. Otherwise, she should take the whole ordeal as a punishment and not look to profit from it.

I agree, and I withhold any condemnation because the sincerity of her repentance will be in how she treats any settlement she might receive.

I think people are being overly harsh on her just yet. She made a grievous error of judgment that resulted in the death of her child. If the child had already been born before she made an error that resulted in its death, she would have received a sentence for manslaughter.

But that was not the case, and our system currently does not recognize the rights of the unborn. I hold absolute contempt for the system, and have compassion for the woman. If she is truly repentant, then no amount of contempt on my part will alter the fact that the death of her child is a burden of guilt that she must bear alone, and that only God can judge her in the end.

But as a human, prone to err, I don't have such overweening pride so as to condemn with contempt the repentant, for regardless of the sin, Jesus Christ had absolute compassion for those who repented their sins.

I do not propose that we feel compassion for those who do not feel guilt for their wrong doings. I pity those who don't realize the harm of their actions to others. I pity such people for their narrow view of the world. It is a patronizing position to take and one that earns me many enemies among my peers who believe that their actions affect them and them alone, but it is the position that best satisfies me.

So if this woman had been unrepentant. If she is corrupted by her lawsuit to seek to use this tragedy for personal gain, then pity her, because when she goes to judgment, the decree will probably be unfavorable. But to condemn her while she appears repentant of her choices? Where's the Christianity in that?

(PS - this is directed at a few other people who responded to me as well)
