I am not sure this came from the Irainian government. Sounds like these threats were well thought out trying to push all our buttons. However, I do not doubt Iran has sleeper cells in the US. and they are just waiting for the word to strike, this particular threat ought to be at the top of the intel hit lists.

The only difference between Iraq and Iran is this: If we need to attack Iran, we will insist that any Iranian units who surrender shall remain in place and stack their weapons, rather than have any chance to go home with their weapons. If they don't like that alternative, they are welcome to die in place == their choice.

I really believe that this is true. There is SO MUCH going on behind the scenes. Neither the U.S. nor Israel are sitting around biting our fingernails when we're not sitting on our hands. A lot is being done, and probably a lot more is being said directly to these barking dogs in Tehran, which make it clear to them (à la Condi) exactly what our reaction will be in the event that they choose an unwise path.
Personally, I think that Condi talks more softly and carries a bigger stick than Colin Powell did, during his tenure at State. She's awesome..........and I'd still love to see her face off against the one who plans to become The Empress of the Once and Future Planet. Condi would win in a walk-away.

In the end the Iranian forces will discover that their guns are facing the wrong direction and nukes cannot be used for riot control, especially in the streets of the capital.
