If he were in his forties, I'd say he's gone now, but at his age, there is a chance that he will recover somewhat, perhaps even completely, but the odds are very slim ... the swelling is a vicious circle of dying cells and accumulating fluid and pressure cutting off blood supply/oxygen and more dying cells, etc.

Someone posted this story on another site. This girl was like Terri and apparently this little boy? Unlike TERRI, she received YEARS of INTRENSIVE therapy and now she's writing a letter to the Editor! :D
