Ugh!
Usually the way it ran in my experience, the new newbies gravitated towards the guy they 'sensed' had the most knowledge and then picked his brain until he went nuts and sent them off for a box of grid squares or a tube of squelch grease.
;-)
I actually gave my First Sergeant a box of grid squares.
A box containing a carefully cut-up military map, right down each and every grid line.
The Blue-eyed Devil likes me. He still has the box....
