Decisions and consequences were made and issued regarding the bake sale held March 21 by the College Republicans at Grand Valley State University.
On April 13 the Student Organization Review Board issued a written decision to the College Republicans, finding them in violation of the student code concerning discrimination, caused by their bake sale which sold cupcakes to varying races and genders at different prices. The organization has been put on a probation period, which will last until Dec. 1.
[The Republicans] just need to come up with a leadership development plan and review the rules for the future, Burke said.
SORB requested that the Republicans make a public apology.
The groups former president, sophomore Kyle Rausch, said he felt it was better to stand on principle and resign than attach his name to an apology letter.
I am not aware of the groups plans, Rausch said. I no longer consider myself part of an organization which is so willing to apologize for their opinions.

"Decisions and consequences were made"
Who wrote this drivel? Consequences were made? Maybe they should worry a little bit more about teaching English than focusing on PCBS.
So a student group is forced to apologize for a symbolic representation of what the university itself does at +4 magnitude?
Since everybody knows the whole thing was about the school's "affirmative action" policies, and the cookie sale is a fair model for those policies, then their hand-picked management toadies on the Student Organization Review Board just bit their masters' hands!
I wouldn't apoligize to this bunch of klutzes for anything!
Apparently, the diversitycrats at Grand Valley State are also teaching the English composition courses.
The whole point is to show the ridiculousness of race-based classifications at the heart of affirmative action.
what state is this in?
This is another shining example, UM being the brightest shining example, of why we need to cut the so called public universities in Michigan loose from the taxpayer's purse strings. They have all become UM wannabes that want to f#@k over anyone who doesn't think in lock step with the communist manifesto.
Kyle Rausch refuses to apologize for his opinions? Guess he can kiss his Senate career goodbye.
Ï will never again do parody to show the administration as the horse's asses they are.

Michigan
Don't worry the Grand Valley Republicans, and their quisling advisor, will more than willing to write 1000 apologies on the blackboard or do anything else to "atone" for their crimes against the thought police.
Michigan
Unbelievable.
Yeah, about like Torquemada supported freedom of religion.
This was done successfully at UC Berkeley and UC Davis.
Well, Comrade Kyle, welcome to re-education camp 1A - Fundamentals of Fascism.
The entire point of the bake sale is to point out the absurdity of discriminatory practices such as those touted as affirmative action. How any college Republican could apologize for that is beyond me.
someday maybe they'll just send them to reindoctrination camps.
Come on now you smart Republican kids, surely you can come up with a clever marketing alternative. How about a bake sale where you charge the same price but hand out mail-in coupons that can be redeemed for a refund based on how the student chooses to fill out the refund request. Just give a bigger refund to anyone who checks the box next to 'minority'. That way you're not identifying anyone, just responding to how they fill out the 'application' for the refund. You know, like the university reviews applications for admission......
