A San Ramon man was clinging to life this morning, a day and a half after getting into a fight with two other men driving away from a Sacramento Kings basketball game at Arco Arena.
Sacramento police confirmed this morning that San Ramon resident Mark Leidheisl, a Wells Fargo senior vice president, remained in a coma today at the UC Davis Medical Center in Davis with severe brain injuries.
After learning Leidheisl's injuries were so serious, two Lodi men who police said got into the fight with Leidheisl turned themselves in Thursday. They were not arrested as of this morning, but the Sacramento County District Attorney's office will decided in coming days whether any charges should be filed against the pair.
The incident began about 10 p.m. Wednesday, as vehicles poured from the Kings-Suns game at Arco. Witnesses told police two men in a Mercedes Benz -- one of them Leidheisl -- and the two Lodi men in a Infiniti SUV were yelling at each other. The two vehicles pulled onto a side road south of the arena and started fighting, witnesses told police.
Family members still living in San Ramon could not be reached for comment this morning.
I just heard at 4PM he is still clinging to life.
I'm amazed these scumbags turned themselves in.
The Sac Bee report this morning said that the dying man's friend "ran away into a field" before the fighting started, then came back later to find his friend down. What's up with that?
The 'friend' must have been a Republican member of the US Senate.
Did you read what Ann Coulter had to say? Dems throw like girls, can you imagine how they fight?
"The two vehicles pulled onto a side road south of the arena and started fighting, witnesses told police."
-Vehicles don't fight. People do.
I imagine he was expecting the police to come and save him, which is the reason we're told that we don't need guns to defend ourselves.
with friends like that...
There's only one solution to this sorry mess...
Ban basketball.
It's a shame that the complete set of facts related to this incident are of such little relevance and importance to you that you can't wait for them to be made known before casting judgement.
Well, in the Old Days, this would have probably been categorized as some form of mutual combat and there likely wouldnt ever be any charges.
But then again, back then you were held responsible for your part in provoking and enticing an incident. Not now. I suspect theyll be charged or otherwise sued (wrongful death) for their participation.
...but the Sacramento County District Attorney's office will decided in coming days...
Most righters are a produce of pubic edyoomakayshin these daze.
FMCDH(BITS)
Unless the two guys in the truck were as big and strong as NFL linebackers and the two dudes in the Benz were pencil neck geeks , I can't see how the one guy could abandon his friend like he did ...
And it's really a shame that you are so condescending and pompous.
Mind you, my opinion is coming from a condescending and pompous position.
