That's always been my reply to claims that "They're born that way." Even if people are born as sexual deviants (a big "IF"), that doesn't make sexual deviancy acceptable. If sexual deviants are hard wired to molest kids, they need to be institutionalized one way or another, to protect the public. This may be tragic for pedophiles who want to change, but no worse than institutionalizing other mentally ill people who pose a risk to others.

Homosexuals don't want to compare themselves to pedophiles because we haven't come to tolerate pedophilia- yet.

This is the basic problem when you start equating decisions about conduct with inherent qualities like race and gender. If engaging in homosexual conduct is a "race" or "gender", rather than a choice, so is engaging in molestation, bestiality, rape, etc.

All people have desires that, if enacted upon, would be evil. I know of few people who have not gotten angry enough to commit murder. I know of few people who have not been sexually attracted to someone that it would be unacceptable for them to have sex with. However, people CAN control their urges. You're not a murderer until you commit murder, even if you desire to do so. The same is true with various types of sexual conduct.
