Georgia responsible for Soviet genocide, claims Russian ambassador to Ukraine

According to former Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin, now Russian ambassador to Ukraine, Georgia is more to blame for the Soviet genocide against Ukrainians than Russia. Chernomyrdin told journalists, "If we speak about terror in the times of the U.S.S.R., as a result of that, the number of Russians killed was far greater than that of Ukrainians. We still cannot answer to our people for that. If anyone is to receive claims, address them to Georgia, the 'father of nations' Joseph Stalin was from that country." During the U.S.S.R.'s 1932-1933 collectivization drive, an estimated 5 million to 7 million Ukrainians in the "bread basket" of the U.S.S.R. perished during a famine deliberately instituted by Stalin.

The Russian people suffered horribly at Volgograd (Stalingrad,) and there wasn't a family that did not lose members. My wife's mother lost her first husband there, and the family suffered horribly. My wife cannot even watch one minute of a video of the battle, without breaking down and leaving the room. Mind you, she wasn't even born until 1955, but she knows how the family suffered. I still cannot get her to tell me how many other members they lost. They are thankful that Stalin defended teh city with their blood, but that is not out of love for him. The people of Volgograd have specifically stated the statue is to honor the allies victory over Hitler. Now go back to libeling these humble people with your arrogant evil hate.

But since it is going up, the fact still remains that it honors the victory, which in the end is what the people achieve not the leaders and does not honor Stalin directly. It is, however a great propaganda piece for certain individuals, especially of the fringe Christian Identity movement who have pinned all their hopes on Russia and China starting the end of the world and attacking Israel (God only knows why) so that they can have their Second Coming.
