My view is that we don't need a UN Ambassador. We certainly don't need one who is going to be a patsy for the status quo.

I'll bet he's surprised. Let him know how you feel by sending him a fax--much more effective than an email:
FAX THE SENATE
Faxing is a lot more effective than email, and you can do it from your computer. Remember this service?
Free Online Fax Service:
TPC.INT
This service covers all of Washington DC.
You can also use this service via email by using this format:
remote-printer.
recipient_name@
fax_number.iddd.tpc.int
For example, you can send a Fax to the The Senate Judiciary Committee office in Washington D.C. using this email address:
remote-printer.Senate_Jud_Committee@12022249102.iddd.tpc.int

George Voinovich says he is surprised by the fuss he stirred...
Baloney, he did it for the publicity and he knows it.

Voinovich spokeswoman Marcie Ridgway said the senator's office is getting a steady stream of e-mails and phone calls on the Bolton issue, with response split between people supporting and opposing Voinovich's action. Trouble is, MARCIE, those supporting his actions are DEMOCRATS.......
they are NOT the people that put his traitorous butt in office.

I agree, but unfortunately at this point in time it's not up to you and me. So you can be sure there will be SOMEONE nominated. The question is whether that person will share our view about how crooked, broken and harmful the UN is to U.S. interests and the good of the world.
John Bolton does share our view.
So we either fight for him or bitch here at FR for the next few years about what a sycophant of a UN ambassador we have (ala John Danforth).

He followed his conscience?
That is extremely disturbing.
Anyone in a position of reposnsibity should have matured to the point where they know that they are called to do their duty -- NOT to let their feelings govern their actions.

Just proves the point they are paid way to much cause they can't do their jobs, missing important meetings like that, unacceptable.
If you can't do the job get out.
BTW can I ask for my money back?

"Voinovich spokeswoman Marcie Ridgway said the senator's office is getting a steady stream of e-mails and phone calls on the Bolton issue, with response split between people supporting and opposing Voinovich's action."
The big problem for Voinovich is that the 50% who support Bolton's nomination voted 100% for Voinovich in the last election, while the 50% who oppose Bolton didn't vote for Voinovich at all! Voinovich is an idiot!

Yep, that brown stuff dripping from Voinovich's ears is BS.

I had already written him about this. Not only was his stance disgusting but admittedly holding the whole process up while he played catch-up due to missing meetings so he could go get his face in with the President on a dedication. Sorry for the run-on but I couldn't stop it. ;o)

Hey, I'm all for FAXing, emailing, calling.
I normally agree with you about emails - when their sent to the "office" account. But you get a few thousand emails in the accounts of the Chief of Staff and Press Secretary (as listed above) and it will make an impact :)
I was going to post the phone number too but last I heard they were forwarding it to a full voice mailbox. Don't know if that is the case this morning... will go check.
In the meantime, I hope everyone follows your advice on the FAX. I am checking out that link now. The Voinovich FAX number in DC is (202) 228-1382 and his district office FAX numbers can be FOUND HERE - CLICK

They're always surprised. That's because they're clueless.

It seems to me that Voinovish has little experience with his conscience. I found his comment, "My conscience told me this is what I think I should do." telling. Sounds to me like his brain told him this is what he thinks he should do probably after THINKING about what other lawmakers have wispered into his ear. Not sure that his conscience has anything to do with this one.

"I feel real good," he said Thursday. "My conscience told me this is what I think I should do." "Who, li'l old me?" Voinovich, the peacock, seems to like the adoration of the democrats more than the responsibility for reigning in a UN intent on destroying his country.

He followed his conscience? He also said, besides that he was following his conscience, that the Holy Spirit moved him to withhold his vote on Tuesday, pending further exploration of the allegations raised by the Democrat members of the committee.
