From what I understand Star Trek will be gone for a couple of years. Also Rick Berman's contract is going to expire in 06 meaning that he would no longer be producing Star Trek.. Someone else would.. I think that is why the canceled the show. I think the next Trek is going to be either on Spike Tv or Sci Fi..

Who said TV Execs has brains..I'll second that sentiment. I still haven't forgiven Sci-Fi for cancelling Mystery Science Theater 3000, arguably the best TV show of the 90's. I understand that Barry Diller personally made that decision.
