Border Patrol agents arrest a baffling number of Brazilian illegal immigrants across the valley.
MCALLEN – Border Patrol agents called for backup today after they arrested more than 100 Brazilian immigrants.
The agency did not have enough room to process the group, and said they were baffled by the numbers.
Authorities in McAllen sent some of the illegal immigrants to other offices to be fingerprinted and booked.
In just three hours, authorities arrested 147 Brazilians across Hidalgo County. Five different groups of Brazilian immigrants were caught Thursday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. near Los Ebanos. Busts followed near Sullivan City, La Joya, McCook and McAllen.
Agents do not yet know what caused the unusually heavy activity Thursday, but they believe it shows the success they are having as they secure the borders.

There's an interesting video about where and how all these arrests were made at the link provided above. Seems like a concerted effort to "crash" the border at different points. I wonder how many of this group might have made it thru.

We see the spectre of Millions and Millions of immigrating illegals eventually overrunning our border states.
My wife is Brazilian. Well now an American. We were watching the Portuguese cable station beamed from Brazil. They said that outside of Mexicans, there are more illegal Brazilians in this country than from anywhere else. Surprised me too.
Interestingly, there is a Brazilian soap opera (novella) on the same station called America. It is about a Brazilian who can't get into the country legally because she is poor so she sneeks in across a very open border. Interestingly, so far, the atmosphere of the novella is completely bashing her decision. There take is that being illegal in this country is as difficult a life to lead as being poor (not destitute) in Brazil. It is really showing that if you want to come here you should do so legally. The novella also follows another couple that goes through the legal procedures to do things the right way and things are working out much better for them. I was plesantly surprised.

Yes, hats off to the border patrol. But watch, in the border patrols zeal to show they are doing their job, you are going to seem more stories of captures. But like this story, you will see they had to call for back up.
Then the story will be that they could not get enough back up or when back up arrived, illegals slipped through where the back up agents were.
The minuteman project has done more than it knows. This issue is going to hit a critical mass with the border patrol beaurcrats feeding it stories. This issue is not going to go away.
Lump illegal Central Americans and they would edge out illegal Brazilians. The Brazilians I've met are good people. Many Brazilians come across illegally via the Mexican border. World has gotten back to Brazil
