Please let me know if you want on/off the Adscam ping list.
Better than I expected from Martin. Harper did a good job too. Even Duceppe was fine.
Layton. What the hell? He spent most of the time talking about global warming and such. I didn't think it was possible, but he made the NDP more of a national disgrace than it already was.
That is probably the biggest thing going for the Liberals. They aren't being bled from the far left. If they manage to keep their grip on power, it will only be because Layton and the NDP are so horrible. The Conservatives are doing their part at least.
Listened to the speech on CBC Radio, and the opposition parties all seem to echo the same theme that it's a Liberal problem, and not a Canadian problem. Jack Layton sounded like he was already hitting his stump speech. Kudos to Steven Harper! Harper hit on all the right points in his speech! This scandal may backbench the Liberals for a few election cycles. If I was a Canadian, and the Gomery report came out next Winter, I'd be torqued if the election were held around Christmas, or even January.
thanx for post fan fan...by the way,how do you spell pathetic in the canuck language?...oh yeah..pa????ul???martin...how'd i do?
What a weenie.
He talks about improving health care? I thought Canadians had a great health care program.....LOL
You're kidding, right?
You were able to see through every lie Martin told, right? ??
"I am not a crook."
It didn't take much to surpase my low standards.
You weren't expecting something better I *hope*. For what he was addressing, short of resigning, he did a good job (again, this is not saying very much).
Anyway, I don't think Martin hurt himself here, but Harper probably did a lot to sharpen his image with some doubters in Canada (he sounded more like a PM in waiting than a bitter leader of the opposition).
That would be way cool; if that huge land mass on America's northern wanted to be a player with us. Who knows what might happen?
But, I fear the dole mentality is way to deep.
Liberals have alot more to hide way more than the Gomery inquiry has revealed so far. Today on a local radio show a caller said that he hoped the word Liberal wouldn't be turned into a dirty word. LOL!
Add me to your ping list.
Please add me to your list.
We have " A " Health Care Program. LOL.
Paul Martin, the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, goes to a "private physician " in Montreal
The rest of us can wait years for our free health care.
Paul Martin was the finance minister who chose to cut health care transfers to the provinces.
Here's the deal......We send all our taxes to the feds, and they redistribute.
Feds were responsible for 50% of the health care. Under the liberals over the last 12 years, the feds have been keeping the taxes, but only paying 12 to 15% of every dollar put towards health care.. ...
Sorry. Rant Off. :-)
Enjoy the show
Let Paul Martin and the Liberal party dig their own graves. They're doing a good job so far. :-)
"Public money was misdirected and misused."
Nah... I'm sure that the Clintons would say it was "invested."
As long as I can remember (nearly my entire life actually) every Canadian politician uses "way too much French". Seems to me your nitpicking everything that offends you beyond the pale. Martin's appearance is nothing more than Nixonian and Clintonian in it's context. The fact he begged for TV time shows he's guilty of the charges, and in the process of personal damage control, while at the same time, blaming everyone else for the pickle he's in.
