The kids were old enough to know their mother was slowly dying in her bedroom...they didn't help her

In fact that is a good pojnt/question. The fact that were aiding the Dad and the girlfriend justifies why they should not be placed back with them. I have worked some social services as a volunteer around the Elkton area and there is no reason why he could not have found the necessary resources. We are a small town and the resources far exceed the cities like Baltimore and Philly.

He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The children should not have been given back to the man who murdered their mother. That's illogical.
