To: Reform4Bush

on 4/21/05 you stated that $2 per gallon wasn't too much to pay. What do you think of the price today and how fast it got there from last year? If it keeps going up that fast it will be $7 in 2010!

Actually, what I said was this:

"Bah, $2 a gallon for gas isn't that expensive. Use the rest of the world's oil while it's cheap, then tap it.

I still wouldn't tap ANWAR or Utah with gas at it's current price (which is still quite a bit cheaper than many other countries).

Additionally, the cost at the pump isn't dependant solely upon the cost of oil per barrel, it is also affected by how fast we can process it into gasoline and distribute it, among other factors.

Currently I would look to build more refineries as well as increasing ethanol usage.

As for my opinion in 2010, you'll have to bump this post again in 4 years to find out my response.
