SEATO was a treaty South East Asia Treaty Organization. Members were Thailand, US, South Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, and the Philippines. All of these countries had troops in Vietnam in honor of the treaty requirements after South Vietnam was attacked I know of no countries in Africa we have this type of treaty with. We may have some type of agreement with Kuwait to come to their aid. When we send troops some where, I don't look at it as sending them to die. If you feel that way, you should never have an army in the first place. You never send your men out to die, you send them to perform some type of mission. Let the bad guys die.

I noticed, that in your description of SEATO, you did't note that it was signed in 1954. In any case, do you support the Kennedy/Johnson Administration policies that got our troops into Vietnam in the first place?
Also, in the first post I replied to talked about how many people died in SEA after we left. Do you think we should try to save people in Africa?
