I wouldn't want it all. I don't even know what "it" is, but I guarantee I don't have the closet space for it.
Pardon the midweek ping but I thought we might have some fun ripping this to shreds!
Like I said: Few women...
My wife can barely push the mower, much less get it around our whole (though very small) yard. Even I have a bit of trouble pushing the non-powered reel mower through our Texas bermuda grass, on those days when I want to use it instead of the gas mower.
Seems feminist peabrained modern women are suffering from the "Beautiful Loser" effect.
This is nothing new, men have been dealing with it since day one (and women as well I bet)...
"He wants to dream like a young man
With the wisdom of an old man.
He wants his home and security,
He wants to live like a sailor at sea.
Beautiful loser, where you goona fall?
You realize you just cant have it all."
You don't need it all! Prioritize and let the rest go!
I wish I had the curves. I'd much rather resemble Kate Winslet than Kate Hudson, but that's not the hand that God dealt me. After three kids, I'm the same size as I was in high school--a boy's 14. Unfortunately, that includes the "balcony" as well as the "orchestra."
And to be really rude...
-- too clean smelling to be French
I'm assuming most of you people on here wanting women to 'raise the kids' (of course I don't understand why men can't raise the kids, if the beauty is having a parent at home, why MUST it be the woman) would scream bloody murder if a man earning $24,000 a year couldn't support a family alone and went to the welfare office for supplemental welfare.
Judgemental is all I've seen on this thread today.
"American women are anxious these days and no wonder: They've been vilified as inadequate mothers, desperate housewives, lackluster academic scientists and -- most rudely -- too fat to be French."
Right, so get back to the kitchen and quit yer bitchin'!
Oh good grief, not this dreck again.........sigh
IF you listen to NOW you will feel inadequate. These folks used to phone my home on a regular basis. After numerous attempts to have my name removed from the calling list I finally tried a desperate measure. I rudely told the bimbo, in the middle of her poor women sales pitch, you have a vagina and breasts...get over it!! They stopped calling.
Baloney. I do all the yardwork, riding mower, push mower and weed-whacker. I can split and stack wood, drive a straight nail, use a nail-gun and other assorted power tools, change the oil in the vehicles, take apart small appliances and reassemble them, and, yes, wise-guy, they work. All the while at the same time keeping a clean house and preparing home-cooked meals everyday.
And to top it off, I'm not fat or depressed. I have wonderful children and a fantastic husband who works hard to give us a wonderful home. I am so content with my life. I have been truly blessed.
Amen, LittleLight!
Does scraping, painting, roofing and siding count as external house maintenance? I hope so - because among other things I'm extremely competent at them all!!!!
Hubby does the mowing because he likes his time on his tractor either alone or with our daughter.
Just like the stereotypes of this article - they generally don't cut it i the real world.
My husband does not feel like being at work today. It's as dull as dirt for him. But it's his duty. He takes care of us.
ROFL!!!!!!!!! I sure as heck know I don't have the closet space.
Now if we could just get the drywall installed in the attic - I could build myself a closet!
Hey, now! You left out sanding your hardwood floors and refinishing them. Planting your garden, canning the fruits thereof and replacing your windows. Sheesh! What a GIRL you are. ; )
Yes, you are being judgemental. I've read all of the posts on this thread and I don't see anything similar to what you are asserting. You might want to stop being so judgemental.
With regard to which parent stays home: Men make more money. Simple as that, in the majority of cases. I am not interested in getting into a debate over whether it is fair or not, just stating a fact. The "man" that you mention, the one making $24,000, is in all likelihood bringing home more bread than his wife would be in the same job. Again referring to said man earning $24,000, what makes you think that he is unable to support his family? My husband supported our family just fine making less than that, and we had two kids at the time. We didn't drive fancy cars. I packed his lunches. No fast food, no nights out on the town. No welfare. We didn't need it, and neither does your increasingly ficticious man.
Again referring to which parent stays home: Women are simply better suited for it, plain and simple. Centuries of history have proven this: When women take the primary role of homemaker and caregiver to the children, the family unit has a much greater tendency to stay intact. When did the family unit come under assault? Just after WWII, when men returned from combat and women were repatriated back to their traditional roles. Some (stupid!) women didn't like that. They wanted to be just like men. They turned their backs on their husbands, their families, their traditional roles, what they were designed to do...and they failed, by and large. Women can't be men, and there is nothing wrong with that. Men can't shouldn't be mommies, and there is nothing wrong with that, either.
"Judgemental is all I've seen on this thread today."
Sounds like a personal problem.
What are you talking about?
Your comments are the judgemental ones.
