The Governator was demanding the closing the Mexican border today, haven't seen a thread for it yet though.

What you are witnessing is modern day liberalism. The criminals are now the victims, and the victims are now the criminals.

Like Democrat Senators who declare they are starting a filibuster and then take a break for dinner and a good night's rest!Yeah, wouldn't you like see the Republicans make Ted Kennedy stand up there for days?

Diana Ponce lay delirious under the carport, fighting off the chill under a fuzzy blanket emblazoned with the Mexican flag.Deport her.

Thanks for that link. Great read.
I'm a bit surprised SFGate published it.

Leave? Dream on... They won't leave as long as the candy store is open and the candy is free.

At least her starvation, unlike Terri's, is voluntary, her own choice.

Now she's sipping a kind of children's Gatorade ...
Don't you get tired of wusses who proclaim a hunger strike and then consume calories. A "real" protester would forgo all food and water until the other side gives in or until death, whichever comes first.
Yes, I do! All for show, no real conviction, obviously.
I don't remember Ghandi having Gatorade when he was protesting the British control of India...

She got the media to pay attention.
I don't like seeming insensitive here, but Marysecretary, she knows what she's doing - or she knew what she was doing.
I guess she did get the media's attention for a short time, but I don't think it will have any lasting impact. Lots of stupid people doing stupid things get reported by the MSM - it's what passes for news these days! But it sure would be embarassing to have a short burst of notoriety for doing something so inane!

Remember when al sharpton was on a hunger strike?I had forgotten all about that. There are hunger strikes -- and then there are Al Sharpton hunger strikes.

So it's dangerous on both ends, but only a lack of insulin will send a person into a coma. So much confusion on this issue.
Yes a lack of insulin will eventually send a diabetic into a coma if they continue eating, and don't take insulin, but it will take quite some time.
On the other end If a person takes insulin, and doesn't eat, their blood glucose level will drop, to the point they will pass out, if they don't immediately get glucose into their system they are DEAD! This can happen in a short time.
Some of us are fortunate, we can tell when our blood sugar level starts going low, others don't notice until it gets very low.
