Part of the problem with that article is, when Rich went into the way-back machine, he was talking about Clinton going in front of the public and how the Dems message just beat down Newt and the Reps---

BUT, that was Clinton with the "Clinton loving media" giving him all of the TV time and newspaper ink he needed to get his "talking points" across---

NOw, speed up to 2005, and you have a hostile media that tries to make Bush out to be an idiot and ALWAYS comes to a story from the negative side, and never the "Presidents talking points", but the dems "talking points"---

Then, whenever he does get a chance to speak his mind, you have the dems complaining about him using the "bully pulpit" no doubt to attach an religious spin as well---

In other words, Galen, it isnt't BUSH's message, its that no one ever hear it!!!
