Two reporters facing up to 18 months in jail for refusing to testify about their sources lost another round in the courts today. The reporters, Judith Miller of The New York Times and Matthew Cooper of Time magazine, now have only one appeal left, to the United States Supreme Court.

BTW, don't forget Fitzgerald has another grand jury (it's reported as a separate grand jury) that also wants Judy Miller to testify.
That's the one looking into someone tipping off her and her colleague Philip Shenon that some Islamic charities were about to be raided.
Fitzgerald has stated flatly in his subpoena that they have discovered for a fact that Shenon received the information and told the charity on the eve of the raid and that this tip resulted in evidence being destroyed.

Really Want to Know? Ask Novak

Ask Novak
"These are your people!" GRAYDON CARTER said to JERRY SEINFELD at State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Wednesday night.
We were at the party that Vanity Fair throws each year to celebrate the TriBeCa Film Festival, and the courthouse was a fantasyland: violet light filled the rotunda, tulips were arranged on the tables, and if some partygoers suddenly wanted to get divorced, all they had to do was hang around until the next morning.
Among the guests, er, Mr. Seinfeld's people, were NICOLE KIDMAN, ROBERT DE NIRO, DIANE VON FURSTENBERG, RACHEL WEISZ, BARRY DILLER, MICHAEL J. FOX, ELLEN BARKIN, JULIAN SCHNABEL, IMAN, DAVID BOWIE and LAUREN BUSH.
During the cocktail hour, we spotted a well-tanned JOSEPH C. WILSON IV, with VALERIE PLAME, the former C.I.A. operative, who was introduced to us by A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE COUPLE. A few minutes earlier, we watched Mr. Wilson have a long conversation with JOHN McENROE and PHIL DONAHUE, a threesome that couldn't have been arranged by a thousand monkeys randomly typing out guest lists. So we caught up with Mr. McEnroe, who told us it was the first time he had met Mr. Wilson.
"I had some bad press when I was young, but what he went through was 20 times worse than what I went through," Mr. McEnroe said, adding that he had once considered entering politics, but had changed his mind.
"I thought about it. But it's definitely a lot dirtier and uglier than I had anticipated. Commissioner, how are you?"
Implies Plame no longer works for the CIA.
Of course, a 4-color spread in Vanity Fair might've compromised her usefulness, as well...
Thanks for making it a manageable size.
Aren't they the handsome couple! And yes, he's hawking the book.

1. Who would hire these losers to be CIA agents?
2. The press described her as a "blonde bombshell". She looks like my uncle with a badly dyed wig. Quite mannish.
Mrs. T is Assistant Deputy Attorney General Victoria Toensing.
I stand corrected. However, the original point is that she wrote the law, and she states that the law was not broken in the Plame case.
Don't the three of us have anything better to do? We are very sad.
Thanks!
