Doug From Upland used to call the George Putnam show on KIEV (now KRLA) to converse and/or read his limericks.

It was on one of his calls (maybe eight years ago now?) that I first heard of FreeRepublic. I began lurking and got hooked.

I heard Doug on years ago before FR talking to then - Mr KFI. I thought he was a real right winger and a little kooky (he had called about Clinton). Now I am on FR with him and had the pleasure of spending time iwh him at Reagan Library last summer and hanging out at Rabid Dog's house.

George Putnam gave KIEV its conservative audience. And so the new owners showed their gratitude and character by dumping him. I have little use for the "new" KRLA. I guess he's no longer on the air at all anymore now that KSPA returned to being all music.
