And I don't believe that everything will center on Israel. This is a popular misconception.

You must have a different Bible than myself. If you interpret the Bible literally, Israel is at the center of all end times prophecy. Here's a quick servey ... Daniels' 70 weeks, Ezekiel 34, 38, 39, the entire book of Isaiah, Zechariah, Micah, The Gospels passages that speck of the end times ie Matthew 24-25, a significant quote from Christ is Matthew 24:15 "“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’spoken of through the prophet Daniel–let the reader understand", this speaks of the Anti-Christ in the newly constructed Temple referred to in Daniel Chap 9. And of course the book of Revelation. It all speaks of Israel heavily being in the center of end times.

Especially Zechariah. Jesus Christ will return to fight the enemies of Israel.

You people who insist on a literal interpretation of everything in the Bible are inconsistent. For example, is the 70 weeks of Daniel 9 literally 70 weeks or not? 70 weeks is literally 49 days. Is it literal or not? If not, why insist that everything is literal?

In Matthew 24 Jesus was speaking of the generation that was alive at the time. The above verse was fullfilled in 70 AD when a Roman emporer came in and sacrificed a pig on the alter, the the temple was destroyed or as has been said, "not one stone was left upon another." God has one purpose, believers thru the cross. He used the faith of Abraham and his descendents to bring about the Messiah. There now is ONE FAITH. There is not a need for any temple as God will not go back the the blood of goats and bulls since the blood of Jesus has been shed for us. A new temple would mean nothing to God. He has built his temple with living stones.
