OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..
Thanks...going there, hope to understand it. Boxer is talking. Yuck, I hate her dramatics, sighs, etc.
Here it comes. You won't believe your eyes or ears.
I got the voicemail at the RNC; since it wasn't a live person, I absolutely UNLOADED.
Reps went into the Committee with a 10-8 assumed win that would have sent Bolton out of Committee for a full floor vote. Hagel grudgingly agreed to support movement out of committee, though he didn't guarentee an affirmative vote on the floor. Voinivich unexpectedly at the last moment stated a lame excuse that he hadn't been able to attend the hearings and the Dems accusations concerned him. He couldn't in conscience, so he states, vote to pass Bolton out of committee.
Voinivich surprised everyone, including Lugar who up to that point had actually had the Dems in his palm. For once we saw indication of a spine. Voinivich didn't alert anyone of his switch in vote until that moment. It blindsided us and it took Lugar completely off guard. hagel than retracted his support after Voinivich's stunt.
So Bolton remains in limbo in the Committee without a vote due to the knife Voinivich weilded.
"I've heard enough today..."
From DEMOCRATS, you fool. A pack of lies.
Not quite. LOL
knee jerk emotional libs. Yeah use your heart - not your brain - and you will vote with us.ARRRRRRRRRGH
OMG! Hagel is sitting there with a big ole smile on that goobber face of his.
You know, not one of those senators on that committee was from Texas---
Which means, that if Bolton doesn't get passed out of committee, then me, I, myself will not have my vote represented in picking the UN Ambassador.
The freepers in Ohio will, in Indiana, in Massachusetts, in Connecticut, in Virginia, in Delaware, and Rhode Island, Nebraska, California, Maryland, ...you get the picture.
But I will be cheated out of my representation--!!! and I paid money to the party for that representation, also...
Can ya tell I'm having a hissy fit, yet? LOL
I called the RNC, too. I was sneaky, and pressed 8, or 0, for "more options",
and got through to MEHLMAN'S office, to a real live human being.
He sounded SO not happy to hear from me.
You mean this is still - and only - about his "leadership style???" Ugh. Was there more, said about these allegations today? Or are they running on the same old stories? I liked what Lugar said, but he seemed real uncomfortable saying it. Listening to Biden now.
I do remember how they billed and cooed like lovebirds, so excited that their billyjeff could run the UN and be on TV ALL the TIME!
At the time, I thought, You've got a long wait for THAT to happen. I hope W hasn't gotten weak in the knees about this kind of thing too.
I'm telling ya, listen to the very end where Luger tells Biden "We'll trust each other." To me, it was the perfect caption for the entire debacle.
the Rats have started the Long Slow Walk to NOWHERE , thanks to , WTF happened , I know what appears to have happened , but?????
Sexual harassment was thrown in there; something about Moscow.
No, that's what Vinovich said!
Voinovich said that.
Let's not forget that these are the SAME people who vote on the budget without even looking at the pages.
All this talk about "not being up to speed" reeks of pathological lying.
yeah , he chased some dame through the halls ,?? yeahright , like Clay's fantom punch to Liston , that hotel had no US security???
