OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..
"It's not roguish to put loyalty to country over loyalty to president"
Of course not, easy to say when you keep the terms abstract, but your statement has nothing to do with this particular case. It's ludicrous to pretend that these vicious machinations have anything to do with upholding "loyalty to country" -- Pres. Bush and John Bolton are each far better judges of our national interests than the slimeballs who are dragging Bolton through the mud. What is roguish is anyone lending support to the scurrilous lowlife character assassins of the Demagogic Party. Bolton is a better person and a better patriot than any of his critics.... certainly comparison with the sleazy likes of Biden, Kerry, Kennedy, et al leaves Bolton looking better and better. He's not perfect, who is, but he deserves far better than the dismal treatment he is receiving from sleazebags who are not fit to shine his shoes.
My side??
Gee and who's side are YOU on???
Mr. Perlstein seems to have stopped answering. Perhaps he's looking up the answers?
We need some drugs.
FNC... [Rich Lowry ] ...just reported that Chafee says Bolton's GOP support is eroding. And that Lugar says he was (not surprisingly) blindsided by Voinovich... Posted at 06:21 PM
Lugar got blindsided..
On another thread, freepers are reporting NRO is saying it might have been the Powell/Armitage leftovers at state dept that ganged up on Bolton.
Or Clinton leftovers at State. Or Carter left overs....the list is endless.
The problem is the Rats have gone so far to the left, we get the watered-down Republicans that really should be in the Rat party.
Bolton looks right at him, smiles, and says...
"Senator, it all depends on what the meaning of is, is.."
I noticed that Voinobitch looks very dark tanned and sleepy, like he was out sailing instead of doing his Senate work (like coming to a freaking Confirmation hearing). He sounded like a sissy today and like he should wear a dress and panty hose instead of Trousers and tie.
You mean awful acts like telling subordinates they are doing their jobs?
And I want to know WHY????
Simple.
Start voting these people out. Chafee, Voinivich, Hagel. Vote them out. Vote them out of primaries. Vote them out of the general. But only those that stab us in the back. If you vote the entire Republican Party out the only lesson they will believe learned is that they were too "conservative". It would be a lie but they'd believe it.
Only vote out those that betray us. If the other Reps hang onto their seats while the McCain-ites fall one by one they'll get the picture.
Patience, remember what happens when you piss off the donors.
That sure elevates the level of discourse on this thread today....please try to keep it relevant..
Who donates to Democrats!!!!
Looks like political payback.

"Well, not quite. The Club for Growth, a conservative group devoted to knocking off moderate Republicans they can't keep in line, ran an ad comparing Sens. Olympia Snowe of Maine and George Voinovich of Ohio to the French for their refusal to vote for the president's $726 billion tax cut. Snowe and Lincoln Chaffee of Rhode Island criticized Pennsylvania's Rick Santorum for gay bashing; Voinovich stiffed President Bush when he went to Ohio to push for his big tax cut and the president dissed Voinovich for advocating "little bitty tax relief."
