As a non catholic I find this... historic is perhaps the best word.
I find it historic in the sense the MSM is being consumed with the topic of Christianity world wide. Like the Passion of the Christ, only of a 1000 times more impact.
As a Christian I'm loving it. The MSM is not a friend to Christians, so having a worldwide broadcast concerning Christianity I see as a gift.
Ratzinger feels as though he is the right choice. Given the decline of Christianity in "Old Europe" I would say it timely a Pope comes from Germany.
Historic indeed. The last time this event took place, John Wooden was still taking UCLA a championship every year. This has only happened 100 times in the past 6 centuries.
I agree!

"Pope JP II brought freedom through Catholism to the benighted Atheist Eastern Bloc.
"Hopefully, Pope Benedict XVI will likewise bring freedom through Catholicism to the increasingly benighted and increasingly Atheist Western European Bloc."
Amen, Soul Seeker! Me too. God is making HIS presence known in this world so desperately trying to shut Him out.
To GOD be all the glory!
