Let's hope today brings us a new Pontiff!
Um no. The first vote was at three this morning (eastern standard time).
That did not lead to an election of a pontiff.
They are now on the second vote of the second day (morning session).
It's helpful to look at it like this.
First Day (Monday)
Evening Vote: No pope.
Second Day (Tuesday)
Morning Session
Vote One: No Pontiff
Vote Two: ?
Evening Session
Vote One: ?
Vote Two: ?
he goes "Oh I missed the smoke!" and I said it was black you idiot, come back tomorrow, meanwhile turn your TV to FOX, they're replaying the black smoke!
They're permitted two ballots before NOON.
The thinking is that they've voted once already
and are voting again now -- that we'll either see
black smoke come Noon time or white from the third ballot.
Don't tell me the obvious...It's obvious your getting ahead of yourself, and I'm not.
Eat your hat if there's white smoke in another 43 minutes.
I'm confused; can somebody explain it in "early morning" terms?
Black smoke at noon or white from the third ballot?
I am confused by your anger.
All I've written is that we're now on the third vote of the conclave (second of the day) and that means the first two votes of the conclave were inconclusive.
Why would I have to eat my hat if there is white smoke in thirty nine minutes?
If there is, then that means they elected one on the third vote of the conclave, second of the day.
Please re-read my posts as you are not making any sense.
It can be either white or black smoke at any given time. Some of these FReepers have been listening to too much MSM jockeying.
They are permitted 2 morning votes before Noon.
People here think that the first morning vote has been cast and tallied, and that it did not elect a Pope.
So, when the second morning vote is cast and tallied, if still no Pope
is elected, then the smoke from both ballots willl be black.
IF, however, the second morning vote produces a Pope, then the failed first'morning ballot will be burned with the succesful second ballot and the smoke will be white.
I think they should "blow smoke" for each ballot, but I'm not in charge. :)
Fox News: "Church in Crisis, Day 2"
But white is yes, no? :-)
They're not burning ballots anyway; they bought special paper that burns black or white.
No, then I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough.
When I wrote "second vote" I thought I made it clear that I meant "Second vote of the conclave/first vote of the day"
The vote we are on now (which could very well be successful) would be the "third vote of the conclave/second of the day"
Hope that clears it up!
I'm hoping for a successful vote in half n hour as well!
FGS!
What the hell is that all about?
No media agenda, huh?
White smoke says "we have a new Pope" along with the ringing of the bells.
It would help if you just numbered the votes on THIS day.
I know what you meant, they're on the third vote of the conclave, but I just go by the vote of the day which is #2.
No no no... I'm just envisioning the headlines and ominous music CNN/Fox/MSNC will play, if this drags on for more than a week...
If they burn the ballots, h ow can they have a recount?
