OK, I just don't understand. I was expecting President Bush to support measures to protect us from terrorists. It seems like a no-brainer that we would want to prevent illegal aliens from entering the United States from Mexico. I'm not afraid of Mexicans seeking U.S. citizenship--I'm afraid of terrorists who will pretend to be Mexicans seeking U.S. citizenship. How can we distinguish one from the other if we don't have control of our borders?
I just don't understand President Bush's apparent nonchalance in this situation. He is from Texas. Isn't there a strong awareness of the problem and concern about it in Texas? Why does he appear to be so distanced from this issue?

I fear Potus is playing politics on this one. But, it's a dangerous game . If we get another 911 or even anything close because someone came in from Mexico whom does he think will still support him. It sure as hell won't be the rats who want open borders.
The ironic thing is that many Mexicans who came here legally don't want and illegals entrants and by having open borders and then severely restricting the rest of the world from coming here, we become one hugely bigoted nation.
How can we justify favoring one country over another when it comes to legal immigration? The whole issue becomes insanely managed.
