Sounds like good stuff, but if they're going to sell this to the computer industry, I'd suggest they avoid the term "micro-channel".

Computer overclockers have been doing this for years...no new whizz bang technology here...They're called Vapo-Chill rigs...
"Electronics for new weapons systems, as well as chips in future computers, will generate five to 10 times more heat than chips in conventional electronic products"
nope, Vcore is dropping as the procees decrease in size, most cpu's will feature multiple cores to run multiple threads simultaneously...

Oh thats right - I had a PS2 for a year - POS - poor bang for the buck.
Will they be able to put a little fridge in my beer jacket?

Gee, and when I saw the headline I thought it had something to do with providing poultry for our troops.

By the way, what are "Boilermakers" doing working on cooling devices? Isn't that kind of like Boeing making submarines?

Don't be so sure... Sony managed to resurrect the term PS2!

It's a shame the "high~tech" whizzbangers can't understand 134a is an older, corrosive & inefficient version of the most perfect freon ever developed r12.

I have a Vapochill and a newer unit. The newer unit cools my chip to minus 45 c. First time I've ever seen it mentioned in FR. ;)

The self-cooling beer can exists! Check this out:

Self-chilling beer can
British can expect to see cans that cool with a twist by summer
Apr 29, 2004 - A self-cooling beer can that chills beer to only a few degrees above freezing is headed for British retail shelves this summer.

True, buat a lot more architectures will go that way, funny things is, arcade machines have used a similar architecture for years, once again...nothing new.
;)
To: MD_Willington_1976
yea, but the "buzz" that come out about "cell" was overhyped pipe dreams. I believe AMD will rule the nest for the next couple of years.
