SAN FRANCISCO - A woman who led an effort to help those ravaged by violence in Iraq fell victim to the war herself when a car bomb killed her and two other people, officials said Sunday.
Marla Ruzicka, founder of Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict, died Saturday in the blast, which also killed an Iraqi and another foreigner, officials said. She had been in Iraq conducting door-to-door surveys trying to determine the number of civilian casualties in the country.
Ruzicka, 28, of Lakeport, founded CIVIC in 2003 and was instrumental in securing millions of dollars in aid money from the federal government for distribution in Iraq.

Things like this just go to prove that God has a really ironic sense of humor, sometimes... and it's OK to laugh, that's why he did it.
What she did was undermine our war effort and help put our troops in evengreater danger.
Her exit from the scene is a blessing for those of us who have loved ones in Iraq who are doing the real humanitarian work - soldiering.
There are plenty of people in Iraq who are not conducting polls for Code Pink, or getting themselves profiled in Vanity f***ing Fair, or interrupting Secretary Rumsfeld in front of the cameras to grandstand, or getting the vile Senator Leahy, when he visited Baghdad, to hire them as his aide in Washington.
They are actually feeding the sick, nursing the wounded, teaching the ignorant. And you'll never see them in a featured Yahoo story.
This is a case of "friendly fire"
Reinhardt Heydrich died doing something he believed in, too.
Should we honor his memory?
Ahh, the obligatory "leftists are ugly" comment. Such originality.
I am a male heterosexual conservative who wouldn't do Anne Coulter with 7 condoms and many bags on both of our heads (I prefer ladies from the TV food network).
The whole subject of looks is below the level of acceptable political discussion. Post your picture, or stop talking about looks.
""I decided not to take a position on the war but to try to do the right humanitarian thing,'"
Yeah. Right.
She didn't take a position on the war when she founded the " Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict."
Yeah. NO position at all.
Risk something for your beliefs and I will take you seriously.

LOL!
In other words, my post was over your head.
Orange 1998,
I like to think that conservatives are different. I like to believe that we value truth, honor, and sacrifice.
It is dissapointing that people who call themselves conservative don't investigate facts and can't understand honor, and don't appreciate sacrifice.
They remind me of Democrats.
She did help? Who? How did she help....I have serious doubts that she helped anyone but herself and her puppet masters. Reminds me of that group of creepy 9/11 Widows. Who did they help, if not only themselves...got any answers Orange?
WHAT? Reinhard has no similarity to the girl.
Your position suggests that there are no innocent victims in war. Think about it. If she was sincere, she deserves our respect. If she was a propagandist, forget her. Google her statements and decide.
What the hey?
This was in response to "liberals are ugly"
They both had immoral beliefs, they both died in the service of those beliefs.
Heydrich's beliefs were much more evil than hers, of course.
She was interested in propping up Saddam Hussein's regime and providing propaganda support to the insurgents.
He was a guy who actually did Hitler's dirty work, so there is a difference of degree.
