Cardinal Who Warned of 'Antichrist' Rises in Betting Odds (Poll-Who is 'Antichrist' he describes??)

CARDINAL WHO WARNED OF 'ANTICHRIST' RISES IN BETTING ODDS

Though Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi is the odds-on favorite to be the next pope, global betting parlors are reporting an influx of bets on Cardinal Giacomo Biffi.

"From what I can see here, there's been a lot of wagers on Biffi," Mani Sanders of Pinnacle Sports, an online gambling service based on the resort island in the Netherlands Antilles, told the Providence Journal.

Cardinal Biffi, emeritus bishop of the archdiocese of Bologna, was recently listed as a 125-to-1 long shot to succeed John Paul II.

But does Pinnacle know something we don't?

The paper reports that as an influx of "bets were placed on Biffi in the past several days, the odds on the 76-year-old Italian had dropped to 50 to 1 by Wednesday."

If Biffi does win, it will be a sign that the Church leaders are trending more conservative.

Biffi is strongly anti-Masonic. He was quoted as saying Catholic churches should ban Mozart's music, as the composer was a Mason. The Church and the Masonic movement have long had an antagonistic relationship.

In recent years Biffi stirred controversy by saying Italy should "protect its national identity" and stop the avalanche of Muslim immigrants.

In 2000, Biffi predicted that "Europe will either become Christian again or it will become Muslim." He added ominously., "The vast majority of Muslims are coming here determined to remain outside our humanity."

That same year Biffi also said that he believed the Antichrist was alive and would soon rise to prominence.

Biffi told a conference meeting in Bologna that the Antichrist was a prominent philanthropist who advocated causes like human rights, the environment and ecumenicism.

Biffi said that this man – who he never identified – had a "fascinating personality" and espoused causes like vegetarianism, pacifism, environmentalism and animal rights.

Biffi added that this Antichrist would be a Bible expert who would discard its truths to prosletyze for "vague and fashionable spiritual values."

Truly, some very interesting ideas right up until the part about "rapture." If anyone is arrogant enough to think they are going to ascend into Heaven without dying - without paying the just wages of sin - then they need to lay off the sauce, in my opinion. If Jesus did not ascend into Heaven without dying, and if "no servant is greater than his master," then no follower of Christ is going to ascend into Heaven without dying. Besides, if all the good people ascend into Heaven then where is the tribulation? Where is the massive final struggle of Good vs evil? The good have clearly left.

I bet it translates to "I hate John Wayne" or something.

It translates to "I will succeed" when translated from Esperanto. Soros real surname is Schwartz. His father changed it to Soros just before WWII. He was a supporter of Esperanto language.

That's NOT what Malachy wrote. Malachy simply called him De Labore Solaris. "From the Labor of the Sun." A Roman name for eclipses is similar: Birth of the Sun.

Yikes! I had never heard of that guy. Now that is scary. He sure is claiming an awful lot. Gave me the chills. He certainly would seem to fit the AC mold except he doesn't yet have any high profile in the world. May just be a certified nutcase.

I was thinking that he was referring to Soros, but now I am beginning to wonder if he fits all the criteria.

Soros has neither charisma nor widespread personal appeal which seem to be key elements in the Anti-Christ's rise to power.

Soros is extremely unattracive in appearance and has a less than magnetic personality.
Soros simply doesn't have what it takes to be the Anti-Christ.

My take on it is that he will turn against Israel and attack that country. He will appear to be pro-Israel, appear to come in peace, etc etc, but make zero mistake, the final leader will invade the "beautiful land." Yes, the beast will have to have a false prophet (his own personal propaganda minister), but I do not see that the Word states that they are of Israeli extraction.

Regardless, the conquering King will try to destroy Israel after having appeared, deceptively, to be a man of peace. Note that on many, many occasions, Israel has had many different Kings and countries Hell bent on destroying it. This pattern is nothing new whatsoever, and, from time to time, reappears in different forms in different historical periods. The End, however, will be such a cataclysmic event, that even the very stars could be shaken. The sky will be darkened, etc. Get a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and start getting a large stack of post-it notes ready.... "With relentless aggression..."

There is a shocking indictment of this guy which scares the daylights out of anyone with High political aspirations. Basically, he destroyed his country and his people and becomes worm food. (scary though...) "Is this the man" that caused the nations to shake?? (paraphrase) I am passing over chapters and verses in this broad overview, but references can be provided. Get a Strong's Exhaustive and a good, faithful translation of the Bible.....

On a different, unrelated, non-political and non-military, non-conquering note, those of Jewish faith that have clearly rejected Jesus as Messiah are STILL looking for Messiah. If anyone bears a claim to "Messiahship" who is not Jesus, some (not all) MAY potentially fall for a false messiah, a false "Christ." This potential mis-placed faith, this religious danger, exists quite apart from the Beast that crawls out of the sea of mankind who is given dominion and power over the earth. The Good News is that those of Jewish faith who have still not found Messiah, STILL have the chance to make an informed, and educated decision that Jesus is in fact Messiah, based upon the Old Testament texts as clearly revealed by the life and work of Jesus as narrated by the New Testament (which is LOADED with references to the O.T.).

Regarding the "beast"", the "man of sin", the final leader [in a long line of bad leaders and powerful military governments] who would like to rule the Earth, it would make sense for the counterfeit Christ to at least appear to be a man of peace, and what greatest outward (sic) symbol of that would be than to appear to be offering "peace" (sic) to the Middle east and to Israel? Rebuilding the Temple would outwardly appear to be a “nice” gesture. I will not fill in the blasphemous blank after that…

Think about it. The Middle East is key as is also Israel in carefully evaluating the “peace” proposals of the man of sin.

How long will his [conquering] "royal" banner remain on Mount Zion???? ... And there he shall fall with no one to help him ...

How many people for temporal sake will accept the Mark, bow down and worship him? Believe it or not, most people think it's "no big deal" to accept a mark that involves buying and selling and even worshipping man.

Heck, many people worship their cars, bank accounts, etc. There is a reason why idolatry is prohibited and this will be a little more "clear" in the End when it comes to the rule and reign of the Bad Guy.

We all have a choice to make. Is Jesus Christ the ONLY LORD and Savior? Yes or no.

The Counterfeit will make counter claims, of course. We know that in the End, Right will prevail, not to worry.

Indeed. The idea of thinking globally is "how can I bring socialism to the world?" Act locally is to start with infesting your local communities. This slogan is precisely what brought us to our current situation. They started small, became a major power in the US, infested and triumphed in Europe, and are quite close in conquering other lands.

The best thing one can do for the international community is to make America a storng and moral nation, rooted deeply in liberty, equality, and justice. America can not fall. If it does, all the nations of the world will succumb. America alone has the power to liberate.

Christ came again, we did not recognise Him and we are the ones left behind.
Explains a lot.<

Hitler may have been an Anti-Christ.Satan like man does not know the time or the hour of Christ return. Therefore he must raise an Anti-Christ in every generation.

"Think about it. The Middle East is key as is also Israel in carefully evaluating the “peace” proposals of the man of sin."

Well since we're Biblically "thinking out loud", what does this say for Bush's Road-map for peace, the whole neocon idea that the road to Baghdad runs to Jerusalem, establishing democracy in the greater Middle East in order to bring peace with Israel, etc.? Biblically speaking, that would be furthering the wrong agenda as we know what this will lead to.

Does that mean that a certain eschatalogical view of Scripture should keep us from working for peace on behalf of Israel? Here's a good litmus test: Any peace that involves Israel sacrificing territory is a pseudo-peace and is probably furthering the agenda of the coming Antichrist.

I was thinking for a few seconds about OBL this Sunday afternoon, and this is what I came up with.

OBL =

One
Big
Loser

That's it. He's a loser. A dangerous and unhinged loser, but a menace type of loser nevertheless. Yep, he's One Big Loser and I hope and pray that we find him ex post haste.

I read an article the other day which quoted the head of DE. intel, in a threat assessment/overview on AQ & WMD and about Afgh.... he basically said that us not using our guys exclusively and relying partly on indigenous personnel allowed OBL to escape ...

That was my exact, precise thought.... Hindsight is 20/20, for some people. I clearly understand and agree that we need to need to train a snake to get other snakes, but in that case, we should have done the job ourselves and politely ask everyone else to please "step aside".. It would have improved our chances dramatically, IMHO

Boy, you surely are no fashionista! Capri Denim...denim capris...blue jeans that are too short for you....highwater pants! I certainly hope you don't plan on wearing those to meet the AC!
