If Dino Rossi rules out a campaign, the three possible choices are former Congressman Rick White, former state G.O.P. Chairman Chris Vance, and Safeco C.E.O. Mike McGavick.

Chris Vance ran the most inept campaign against Congressman Adam Smith in 2000.

Dino will ride the tide to victory...either Gov. or Senate. Lord knows the state of Washington needs to get rid of some political 'bad apples'.

The problem is that the liberals have a lot of sway in Washington. We couldn't defeat Osama-fan Murray with a good candidate. Can'twell is more appealing. We need a very strong candidate. Rick White is pro-abortion and the rumor is that he divorced his wife when she caught him sleeping with lobbyists in Washington. To tell the truth, Vance is hardly a stunning leader. I don't know about McGavick.

What do you think? We've got to toss out these Soviet-like bureaucrats now controlling Washington state.

I don't think Vance even cares what he runs for, as long as it is in keeping with his ego. He just wants to run.

It's all about Mike McGavick. He's by far the best possible candidate I've heard mentioned up to this point.

For those of you who don't know, he was former Sen. Slade Gorton's Chief of Staff for a while.

Cantwell isn't necessarily more appealing. She's more appealing to those with brains, in the sense that she's not a moron who just sees the Government as a giant ATM machine, and she's not insane liberal like Murray. But unlike Murray, she doesn't have the 'mom in tennis shoes' schtick that Murray has been milking for her entire political carrear.

She can be beaten, especially with the right candidate. White is a loser, I don't like him and haven't for a while, he use to be my congressman. I like Chris Vance, he's been a good Chairman (frankly, those who don't think so are those sorts that want him to walk on water and somehow turn our state as hard right as Oaklahoma overnight), but I don't think he would be a good statewide candidate.

Mike McGavick is the right choice. He can dull Cantwell's edge in the business community with his extensive business experience, and his experience as Slade Gorton's chief of staff give him the right political experience, and the right persona in Washington to win swing voters.

I'm inclined to think that Mike McGavick is the best option available. He undoubtedly has personal wealth with which to finance his campaign (like Cantwell did last time), and he has some political experience. I saw give him a shot. White and Vance had their chances in Congressional races, and we know how those turned out.

"We couldn't defeat Osama-fan Murray with a good candidate."

I don't agree that George Nethercutt was a good candidate. One thing that consevatives value is honesty, and many hadn't forgotten his broken promise. He struck many as essentially untrustworthy and willing to say anything to win. Given his shortcomings, I'm surprised that he won 44%. And that was only because Patty Murray is such an airhead.

Guess you are right. I meant that he was at least credible. But, I'd have to agree that he should forever be known as a twit for not defeating Patty. He is a big loser. I'd almost forgive him for the flip flop on term limits, but then he needlessly championed stem cell research. Why, why didn't we put up a military candidate or someone who could bring down the brain dead lib zombie of a Senator?
