You can't just blame Clinton. If this is true, it means the FBI has some high-level rot that goes deeper than a couple of presidential appointees. If career police officers are able to turn their backs on clear evidence of a link between AQ and OKC --- and do it consistently and repeatedly for 10 years --- then there is something deeply and severly rotten in the FBI.

Clinton is indeed rotten. No doubt about that. But if this AQ-OKC connection turns out to be true, the rot in the FBI is much bigger and longer-lasting than Clinton.

I absolutely agree. There are probably a lot of longtime agents within the FBI, CIA and other agencies who should have been fired long ago for their incompetency. Hopefully, Negreponte will be doing just that.

Nevertheless, we cannot overlook the fact that the Clinton administration completely ignored the terrorist threat to our country. They were so bent on "lowering" the crime rate, that they ignored crime. They couldn't ignore the OKC bombing, so they found a way to "wrap it all up" and make it seem like it was the work of a couple of people, who they promptly labeled as "right wing fanatics." When the USS Cole was bombed, they basically acted as if it was an Yemeni criminal incident, when what they should have done is retaliated. Clinton's minimizing of the terrorist threat merely emboldened al Qaida; Clinton thought that if we ignored the problem it would go away, but it just got worse.

This then begs the question as to what other agencies have been infiltrated and who is pulling the strings?

"--- then there is something deeply and severly rotten in the FBI."

Ruby Ridge, Waco, OKC, TWA 800, Vince Foster ... reminds me of this headline from today: Woman hit by train, dies. All I can say, welcome aboard, better late than never. ;^)

And you just now are beginning to think there may be something rotten at the F.B.I.
You have just come to the conclusion that just maybe they don't tell the truth sometimes?

I wouldn't trust the f.b.i. or the bureau of alcohol tobacco firearms c.i.a. or the i.r.s. if they told me it was Sunday.

Add this to the Richard Jewell persecution by the FBI.

Good afternoon.
"You can't just blame Clinton...there is something deeply and severly rotten in the FBI."

Remember that bill clinton allowed his arrogant and incompetent socialist stooges to replace bureaucrats throughout the government and military with fellow travelers. The FBI and ATF stooges gave us Ruby Ridge, Waco, the World Trade Center bombing and the Murrah Building. The military stooges were generals like Weasely Clarke, Shinseki and that Air Force guy who supported john kerry.

Ultimately, clinton and crew gave us September 11, 2001 and the WOT.

My understanding is it went downhill after William Webster left and the Bureau became increasingly dominated by the policies of DoJ. A lot of good career agents were squeezed out when the Bureau started implementing the same politically-correct hiring and promotion policies as other parts of the federal goverment.

You can't just blame Clinton.

The Master of the ship is a good place to start.

Start adding the list of Clinton aid to the enemy here.:

Used OK City to vilify any conservative, especially the NRA, the Militias, Church Groups, and anyone concerned about the slaughter at Waco. Vehemently denied any Middle Eastern Connection.

Refused to either accept custody of Bin Laden or information concrning AQ when offered by the Sudanese.

He or his minions squelched any talk of terrorism in Flight 800 and other aircraft incidents, to the point of jailing independant investigators.

Two embassies, the Khobar Towers, and the list goes on.

MY ONLY QUESTION: HOW MUCH DID THEY PAY HIM???

But if this AQ-OKC connection turns out to be true, the rot in the FBI is much bigger and longer-lasting than Clinton.

'Way back when', there was some FR discussion, that the the FBI rot also included daddy Bush.

Does anyone remember if the FReepers proved/disproved that idea???

My remembrance of the aftermath of this tragedy was how the Clinton admin. put a huge focus on militia groups in the US as responsible. They went out of their way to pull attention AWAY from foreign terrorists.
The FBI may indeed be rotten to the core, but the AG office under Reno was in it up to their eyeballs.
