The Gaza withdrawal is an Israeli initiative, despite enthusiasm from other quarters. I think Sharon recognized a negotiated peace is an impossibility, and is proceeding unilaterally.

Exactly. Finish the fence, clean out whatever needs cleaning up inside the fence, and smash the pali's outside it if they go too far. Of course the real controversy starts when Israel routes the western perimeter of the fence.

Sharon has a history,of being a hawk, not a dove. His actions are doveish in nature. And he is not stupid.
When Israel withdraws, the PA will attack. The Jews of Gaza, hopefully now will be safely out of the major war zone in Israel.... Israel will respondand retake ALL the land and be more able to establish, secure borders MINUS the so-called palestinians, who will be lost in the attack. He will then be able to say to the world, EU, UN, International Court and all the anti-Jew crowd that Israel tried and did her part. Now, this is life and we have a right to exist and this is what we had to do. This is now Israel.
Sound like a Sharon Plan??
