As I understand from reading another article about her, her father was pretty distant, and when her mother committed suicide her father just told her she had died but not how. She found out, I think, when someone interviewing her told her how her mother had died. Not making excuses for her, but that has to screw you up some.
And then there was being married to the three nutcase husbands, Hayden, Vadim and Ted "the idiot" Turner.

When I tuned over there, she was yelping about the fact that men hold all top jobs in media, and women can't get their voices heard. Nevermind the fact that there are plenty of successful women reporters and hosts in the media. I can't think of one instance where someone like Roger Ailes was main voice of Fox News.
